Reviews
Skate 3 is the best skateboard game ever. If you thought Skate 2 was realistic, well Skate 3 beats it. Here are the pros. First off there are 3 difficulty's, easy(which of course is easy, still realistic, but requires a lot less effort), normal(which is how Skate 2 was) and Hardcore(Just like real life. The bails are so real, and it requires a lot of effort to do tricks). Skate school. A dude named Coach Frank teaches you how to do: ollies, flip tricks, nollies, grinds, and I think grabs. Better customizing your character. Your dude no longer has to have a ugly face. With more options for clothing and facial looks, you can make your dude look almost like you(and my dude looks like me, but several years older). EA defiantly worked on the faces. New story line. You take off from where you were in Skate 2, but now you're objective is to make your own skateboard company. Teammates. As you sell more boards you unlock items. One of the unlocks is teammates. You can have a total of 4 teammates. But you have to sell a certain amount of boards to add a new team-member. You can also customize and name your teammates.(My teammates in the game, look just like my real skate friends. Which is what I meant to do)You can also do competition with your teammates, or just call them up(with the new, "spawn a skater") and skate with them. New area. You are now in a new city, which is a lot bigger. Also no Mongol corp, the cops are for skating. Only con is there are 3 zones, and you have to teleport to them. Online team. You can now join or make your own online team. Skatepark editor. You can now edit, or make your own skatepark. Also if your in the middle of nowhere and there is a mega stair in front of you and you want a rail to grind on. Well open your skatepark editor and place a rail there. That's right skate objects fall from heavan.(Looks like God likes skateboarders)lol. With Xbox live you can also go to other people's skatepark, and some are AMAZING!!! Now unfortunately the, cons. You can still only skate with friends on xbox live within a boundary. (Im not sure about this) You can't play with friends on the same console anymore. Not the same Hall of Meat. Now it's a thing you have to sign up to do. You have to have a code to activate the skate real(unless you bought it brand new, it comes with the code. The code cost about $10. but if you bought it used, chances are it ain't coming with a code. and if it does, its probably been used). You no longer have money to buy stuff. Instead it depends upon how many boards you have sold. Other than those cons the game is great, and i highly recommend buying it.
Well this is a great game if you want more Skate and improves over Skate 2 in the following ways: -Skatepark Creator that lets you build stuff anywhere (seriously, you can build stuff in the middle of the street) -More online features -Better controls walking -Slightly improved graphics (less drops in frame rate too) -New easy and hard mode -Great new map -Good soundtrack -New missions (but they are repetitive of the last two games) -Continual updates Now for the ugly bad: -EA charges $10 for the "Skate Share Pack" that is included free with the game. The problem here is that if you buy a used copy of this game there is a good chance that this code has already been activated and you will need to spend $10 to be able to upload and download custom skate parks, photos, and replays. This is of course a continuation of the video games industries attempt to profit/stop the 2nd hand market for games as they do not make any money off those. Many people buy games with the knowledge that they can sell the game later if they don't like or they get bored with it and this restriction is an attempt to prevent you from being able to sell what is yours and what you paid for. Even PC games with outrageous DRM allow a limited number of installs, so a one time use activation code is ridiculous. -EA is continually releasing DLC, which is a good thing for some as it keeps the game fresh, but in all honesty most of the DLC content is overpriced and should be priced lower or somethings should be give out for free. -Missions are not as fun as Skate 2 (The Danny Way missions from Skate 2 were a blast, but Skate 3 is lacking unique missions that are more than just a contest or a photo shoot) If you care about your rights of being able to sell what you own and hate DRM (or in this case an attempt to prevent people from selling and buying used copies), then you should boycott this game. That is probably too extreme for most people as this is a fun game besides the bad parts, but if you let EA take your rights now, then it will only be a matter of time before all games have limited number of users and other ridiculous restrictions.

Purchased this game for our grandson. He was really excited to get the game, and we were excited because we purchased this game at a much better price than we could have at our local stores. The game is everything our grandson expected.
